Casual Dietary Aide
Position Title: Casual Dietary Aide
Hours of Work: Early Shift (7am - 3pm) or Late Shift (10am - 6pm)
Shifts include weekends and holidays.
Duties: Under the direction of the Director of Dietary Services, the casual Dietary Aide is responsible for the preparation, setting up and serving of meals, and clean up after meals.
Specific Responsibilities Include: Ensuring all meals and snacks are prepared and/or served in a cheerful and pleasant manner, removing all soiled dishes from the dining rooms and transporting them to the kitchen, washing and putting away dishes, setting up the dining room prior to each meal, preparing specialty drinks, and portioning desserts.
Job Knowledge Required: Minimum of Grade 10, knowledge of basic nutrition and proper food handling and an understanding of the special needs of the aged and chronically ill.
A sincere interest in working with the elderly and a sense of team spirit are essential qualities for this position.
