Nakile Board Member
Raymond Doucette
Chairperson of the Board

Raymond is from Wedgeport, NS, and has been a board member since May 2014, and is currently
serving his fourth term. Presently retired after having worked for the Federal Government for 35 years,
Raymond has shown he is a diligent worker. He is a strong believer in promoting his community, and as a
result, Nakile Housing Corporation was a great fit for him. He currently serves on several community
boards including Coastal Financial Credit Union (Chairperson) Wedgeport Tuna Museum (Chairperson,)
Policy Advisory Board. With over 30 years as a director with the Credit Union System where Governance
Training is mandatory, he brings significant knowledge and experience in governance training and work.

Kathy Bourque
Secretary

Kathy currently resides in Middle East Pubnico, Nova Scotia, and has been a member of the Board since
November 2008. Kathy is currently finishing her fifth term on the Board and moving into her sixth. Kathy
is also a member of the Finance and Auditing Sub-Committees of the Board. Kathy brings over 25 years e
of experience of working in financial institutions to the Board. Kathy possesses a keen interest in
community engagement. Her philosophy is that engaging with the community can help gather valuable
input to ensure that a facility such as Nakile meets the needs of residents and their families. Kathy has a
personal connection with Nakile in that a family member was a past resident. Her personal experience
allowed her to gain a better understanding and appreciation of how long-term care staff work with our
loved ones. Currently, she sits on multiple boards and committees. She currently sits on the Western
Counties Library, Planning Advisory Committee, East Pubnico Water Utility, West Pubnico Wastewater,
Yarmouth and Area Industrial Commission, and Police Advisory Committee.

Gordon Boudreau
Director

Gordon is a resident of Wedgeport, Nova Scotia, and has been a member of the Board since November
2020. He is currently completing his first term on the Board and starting his second. Gordon brings
experience to the Board as an entrepreneur. Gordon has a desire to help our long-term care populations
and wants to enable them to receive the best possible care not only in his community but within the
surrounding areas, as well. When he is not spending time with his family, Gordon can be found
volunteering at events such as the Tuna Tournament Week, organizing the annual Tuna Museum hockey
games, and serving at the Nakile BBQs. He currently serves on the Police Advisory Committee,
Wedgeport Wastewater Committee, and the MODA Financial Committee.

Donna LeBlanc
Director

Donna has been a member of the Board since June 2018. She currently is serving in her second term.
Donna is a member of the Finance and By-Laws Sub Committees.

Jill MacKenzie
Director

Jill has been a member of the Board since September 2019. She is currently serving her second term. Jill
is a member of the Audit Sub-Committee and is also the Board Representative on Nakile’s Fundraising
Committee.

Louise LeBlanc
Director

Louise resides in West Pubnico, Nova Scotia and has been a board member since 2024. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and many years of experience in the accounting field. She has served on numerous boards and is aware how of important Nakile is to the community as her mother was a resident there.

Jonathan d'Entremont
Director

Jonathan grew up outside of Yarmouth in Brenton, NS, and currently resides in Lower West Pubnico with his wife Jillian. He has an education in Business Administration and has worked with Coastal Financial Credit Union for 12 years, most recently as the Senior Commercial Accounts Officer. Jonathan has a strong business acumen and knowledge of finance that is needed to help make sound business decisions. Jonathan is currently a board member for Investing in Nova Scotia Enterprises Co-operative Limited and has previously sat on the board of the West Pubnico Golf and Country Club Limited, bringing this board experience along with him. Jonathan’s Grandpere was a resident of Nakile for a short time and this made Jonathan aware of the impact facilities such as Nakile have on the community which sparked his interest in getting involved. Jonathan believes in helping the community and can be found volunteering for different community activities through his work at the credit union. He also sits on the planning committee for the Argyle Abuptic Festival. Jonathan enjoys camping with Jillian and their two dogs as well as spending time with family.

Larry Muise
Administrator (EX-OFFICIO)

Larry (Sonny) resides in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, with his wife Cindy and two children, Emily, and Drew,
and has been on the Board since March 2024. Larry is currently serving his first term on the Board and
brings considerable experience from working in both the private sector, and in health care, in various
leadership, management, and consulting roles. Larry holds a certificate in Occupational Health and
Safety (UNB), a certificate in Nutrition and Food Service Management (CHA), and a is a Red Seal,
Journeyman Chef, having completed his apprenticeship after finishing his certificate in Culinary Arts
(NSCC). Larry favors a progressive and collaborative approach to leadership. His diverse background,
experience, and skillset lends itself well to the role of Administrator at Nakile. Larry has a commitment to
quality improvement and client satisfaction, and prides himself on his relationship and team building
abilities. When not working Larry can usually be found spending time with family, walking the dogs, and
shuttling to and from the many hockey rinks in the province and sometimes beyond.
